The paper responds to current educational trends in polytechnic education and presents inquiry-based education as the one of the opportunities for the development and the pupil?s self-evaluation. On the basis of this contribution is an attempt to present the context of self-concept in relation to technical education. At the same time it presents the pupil?s self-reflection as an integral part of their self-image. On this basis, we present a framework for teacher-driven self-assessment activities. The article contains a research probe which was realized by SEIQoL method. The research maps teacher?s point of view of the pupil?s self-concept development. The main aim of the probe was to reflect the key topics related to the development and formation of pupil?s self-concept and identify teacher?s personal look at their structure. Research results pointed to the fact that respondents considered evaluation and self-assessment of the pupil as a key category in the creation and development of its self-concept.
