摘要

Studies on brain-damaged populations have shown that processing of numbers can be selectively impaired. For instance, Starrfelt (2007) provided evidence for the selective sparing of numbers with impaired words (i.e., cross-domain: number vs. words). Within the number domain, further dissociations have also been reported. Marangolo and colleagues (2004) reported evidence for selective (i.e., cross-modality: orthographic vs. phonologic) deficit in the spoken number production with spared number writing and number comprehension abilities. In the present study, we report on a patient who exhibited a dissociation at a finer (within-modality: orthographic) level, that is, spared number word writing with impaired digit writing.
