Total synthesis of biologically interesting (【)-cannabichromene, (【)-cannabichromenic acid, and (【)-daurichromenic acid is described. The key step in the synthetic strategy involves the formation of benzopyrans by ethylenediamine diacetate-catalyzed reactions of resorcinols with メ,モ-unsaturated aldehydes.
