Landslide hazard and risk assessment for Ambon city using landslide inventory and geographic information system

AmbonIslandisavolcanicislandsarcandincludedintheterritoryofthearchipelagoofsmallislandsareassociatedwithsubductionzonesthathaveadegreeofhighvulnerabilitytonaturaldisasters,suchaserosionandlandslidesontheslopesofcertainconditions.LandslidesthatoccurvariousinthecityofAmbon,usuallyoccursduringtherainyseasonsothattheimpactsthatoccurnotonlyoccursonsitebutalsooffsitewithamountoflargesedimentation.ThispaperpresentstheapplicationofdigitalimageanalysistechniquesandtoolsGeographicInformationSystemstodescribethedegreeoflandslidehazardandriskareasinlocationsAmbonCity,Moluccas.Thecauseofthelandslideisanalyzedthroughvariousthematiclayersattributedataforthestudyarea.Landslidehazardzonationassessmentisdonebyusinghistoricaldata,whilethelandslideriskanalysisisdonebyusingtheresultsoflandslidehazardassessmentandsocioeconomicfactorsbyusinggeospatialmodels.Theriskassessmentoflandslidescanbeusedtoestimatetherisktothepopulation,propertyandinfrastructure.Thestudyresultsintheformofamapoflandslidehazardandtheriskoflandslidesthatacttosupporturbanspatialplanningbasedondisastermitigation...
