Alexander Kratochvil A visit to Oksana Zabu?ko’s “Museum of Abandoned Secrets” This “visit” to Oksana Zabu?ko’s latest novel Museum of Abandoned Secrets (printed in Kyiv in 2009) briefl y examines the different layers and aspects of this long and challenging literary work. The narrative plot is based on the traditional motif of a family saga: narrative modes and issues of genre, the need to re-visit and re-interpret the history of 20th-Century Ukraine, the issue of confl ict and possible reconciliation between generations and between the different parts of the country – all this and several other ideas are discussed here, challenging others to investigate and interpret further.
