The entrance channel mass asymmetry effects in the formation of 240 98Cf - nucleus have been analyzed within the context of energy dependent Woods-Saxonpotential model (EDWSP model). The theoretical calculations of fusion dynamics of32S208 Pb , 34S206 Pb and 36S204 Pb systems are performed by using static 16 82 16 82 16 82 Woods-Saxon potential and EDWSP model in conjunction with one dimensionalWong formula. The larger mass asymmetric fusing system leads to least fusionenhancement at sub-barrier energies while less mass asymmetric fusing systemproduces larger sub-barrier fusion enhancement. The static nucleus-nucleus potentialsystematically fails to recover the experimental data of 32S208 Pb , 34 206 and 16 82 16S82 Pb 36 16S.
