Thepresentstudywascarriedouttoassesstheeffectoforganicandinorganicformsoftraceminerals(Cu,ZnandMn)atdifferentdoselevelsonthegrowthperformanceofcrossbredmalecalves.Twentyfivemalecalves(7-10months)wererandomlydistributedinto5groupsviz.C(Control),T1,T2,T3andT4consistingoffiveineachgroup.Inorganictraceminerals(Cu,ZnandMn)werefedat150%oftheNRCrequirementsinT1groupandmethionine-basedorganictraceminerals(MBOTMs)weresupplementedat100%,50%and25%oftheNRC(1989)requirementsinT2,T3andT4groups,respectively.InControl(C)groupthetraceelementrequirementswerefulfilledthroughadditionofinorganicsaltsofCu,ZnandMn.Effectoforganicandinorganictracemineralssupplementationwasassessedbybodyweightgain,averagedailygain,serummajor(Ca,PandMg)andtrace(Cu,ZnandMn)minerallevels.nbsp;ResultrevealedthatsupplementationofMBOTMsatNRCdoseleveltomalecalvesimprovedbodyweightgainandaveragedailygainascomparedtothecalvessupplementedinorganicmineralsatNRC(1989)doselevel.SupplementationofMBOTMsatNRCdoseleveltomalecalvesdidnotaltertheserummacro-minerals(Ca,PandMg)profile,butincreasedserumCu,ZnandMnafter75daysoffeedingtrial.ItmaybeconcludedthatsupplementationofMBOTMsatNRCrequirementinmalecalvescanimprovethebodyweightgainthanthatofinorganictraceminerals.
