nbsp;Fourlocalcastratedmalepigsof12.5to18.5kgwereusedtostudytheeffectofstylosanthesleavesandcassavaleavesfedaloneorasmixturesontheintake,nutrientdigestibilityandNbalanceonabasaldietofbrokenrice.Thebrokenricewasfedattherateof2.5%(DMbasis)ofliveweight.Theleaveswerefedadlibitum.FeedDMintakewashigherwhencassavaleaveswerefedaloneormixedwithstyloascomparedwithstyloastheonlysupplement.TherewerenodifferencesamongtreatmentsindigestibilityofdrymatterandN.ThereappearedtoacurvilinearrelationshipbetweendailyNretentionandtheproportionofcassavaleavesinthefoliage.Itwasconcludedthatfreshcassavaleavescansafelybefedtogrowingpigsandwillsupportbetterperformancethanuseofstylosanthesfoliagewhenthebasaldietisbrokenrice.
