KDSAP participants had more than two-fold higher prevalence of proteinuria compared with previous studies. Most KDSAP participants with proteinuria were unaware of the condition. Efforts are needed to promote early detection of proteinuria, improve awareness, and modify risk factors to improve outcomes. We proposed that KDSAP is an effective model to identify the population with high risk of kidney disease and low awareness at the community level.
