摘要

In the present investigation a bacterial strain was isolated from agricultural soil sample polluted with insecticidechlorpyrifos, and the growth pattern was determined. Characteristic feature of the strain indicates that itbelongs to the genus Bacillus and species stearothermophillus. The amylase activity was studied in thepresence and absence of the pollutant and it was found that the bacterium grown in the presence of thepollutant showed a significant increase in the enzymatic activity by 140 μg/g/min.
