Application Possibility of New Ship Form’s in Development of Croatian Navy Fleet based on Modernization of Croatian Shipbuilding

This paper gives design directions for possible development of the Croatian Navy fleet through the development of Croatian shipbuilding, based on the research and knowledge of a group of Croatian scientists. Croatian Navy must follow the trends in world shipbuilding development, in order to keep step with recent, advanced techniques applied on ships of the world's leading forces. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasise the importance of introducing new ship forms to satisfy the needs and tasks which are imposed. The development of CN fleet certainly must follow the Croatian shipbuilding development, which is based on design directions of the world shipbuilding. To be competitive in the market, Croatian shipbuilding must undergo adaptation and reorganization according to requests. A possible area of development is the application of new ship forms, highly sophisticated ships with high speed (made of advanced materials with high strength and low weight) for the purpose of more efficient execution of tasks and great cost savings, which could be crucial for development of the CN fleet.
