CASE REPORT: Trouble from the Tropics: Challenges in Managing Malaria in Rhode Island

The authors present a case of severe falciparum malariadiagnosed in a traveler after he returned to Rhode Islandfrom a visit to the Dominican Republic. They then reviewaspects of the case pertinent to our local practiceenvironment that make diagnosis and managementespecially challenging.
