ROLE OF yafD AND xthA IN COLONIZATION / VERTICAL TRANSMISSION AND THE PREVALENCE EVALUATION OF THE TWO GENES IN SALMONELLA GALLINARUM-PULLORUM AND S. ENTERITIDIS AVIAN STRAINS

The egg white is inhibitory for bacterial growing by means of transferine and lysozyme. The yafD gene expression / over expression (an endo-exonuclease-phosphatase family protein) is responsible for the egg white bacterial resistance, similar to xthA gene which codes for exonuclease III, both enzymes being associated with vertical transmission of S. enteritidis. The pathogenetic similitude study of S.gallinarum pullorum and S. enteritidis was done by the two genes detection and their expression level testing. On the base of the GenBank sequences of Salmonella typhimurium LT2 gi16418757, S. cholerae suis gi 621785710, Escherichia coli gi49175990 and S. typhi CT18 gi16758993. were designed on line primers which were evaluated by PCR using the PE GeneAmp PCR 9600 System. The size of the resulted amplicons was similar with those estimated only for the primers designed on the base of S. typhimurium and S. cholerae suis sequences.
