Mr. Bay, whose active library reflects the policies of his sage administration, has prepared at the request of the Board of Directors a history of the first fifty years of The John Crerar Library. Besides the participation of Mr. Bay, who is ably qualified by his skill in the field of historical scholarship and by his intimate knowledge of the Library, there are contributions by Thomas W. Goodspeed and E. W. Blatchford and a few chapters by present and former associates.
