摘要

The published Papers of the Centennial Meeting of the Kentucky State Medical Association review the early historical background of the Association and its officers and republish its first President's address before the second annual meeting of the Kentucky State Medical Society at Louisville on October 20-22, 1852. This address is noteworthy in that it stressed medical ethics and standards of education and medical practice, much of which is applicable today. The scientific papers presented are by invited eminent authorities of national stature covering many fields of medicine. These papers continue the professional spirit and high scientific standards traditionally fostered by the Kentucky State Medical Association in its local and national role in medical practice and education.
