Aldi goes gourmet

Germany's leading discounter Aldi introduced dairy products in a special gourmet label, which was launched in time for the Christmas trade. Aldi-Nord christened its luxury label "Freihofer Gourmet" and by the first week of December it was on some 40 articles from smoked eel to chateau cru wines and included fresh dairy ice cream, two dairy mousse products and a latte macchiato milk dessert.
