The UK trade body, the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA) National Conference in London is not always the most optimistic of meetings, but this year there was renewed hope. This was based on the government's adoption of the Committee on Climate Change's recommendations on the fifth Carbon Budget, and as Charlotte Morton, chief executive of ADBA pointed out, "There is more we can contribute and help to close this large policy gap." She further admits that the last couple of years have been quite tough for the AD industry, as the conservative government had an overall lack of policy direction on the matter.
