In modern construction, sustainability is a cornerstone of most projects. From the providence of the timber and the environmental impact of the work to the specific light fittings and the air-tightness of the building, every aspect is looked at through a sustainability lens. But when it comes to the temporary aspects of a construction project, such as the site hoardings, Is sustainability given the same consideration? "Many developers will openly comment about the sustainable nature of their building, but may be entirely unaware of the quality or legality of the board used to secure their site," says Medite SmartPly head of marketing and brand Stuart Oevoit. "Quite simply, the volume of board used in a site hoarding often far outweighs that used in the construction of the buildings within it," he adds. "Our Job here is to raise awareness and help people realise the impact they may unwittingly be having."
