Amey's loss-making accounts: Five things you need to know

Amey has now lost more than £662m over the past three years, which would be enough to sink most companies. Interserve's losses, for example, were equivalent to about two-thirds of Amey's loss over the same period, at £450m. Amey's major advantage is the support provided by its parent company, the Spanish contracting giant Ferrovial. The UK subsidiary's total borrowings stood at £456.4m at the end of 2018, but £399m of this came from the Ferrovial group.
