Keegan captivates audience with football tales at North East Annual Dinner

Almost 300 construction industry guests descended on the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel on 12 April to enjoy what has been described as the "best CIOB North East Annual Dinner ever!" Professionals from across the north east region were no doubt attracted by the prospect of an after-dinner speech from football legend Kevin Keegan, and he didn't disappoint. Captivating the audience with tales of his early upbringing and career in Doncaster, Keegan hilariously recalled his journey through the world of football with clever use of images, quotes and insights into the such names as Tommy Smith, Alan Shearer and even Tony Blair! Keegan was happy to answer questions from the audience, and soon had a queue forming at his table from admirers requesting photos, signings or just a plain old handshake or pat on the back.
