Shares in the construction sector had a quiet month in October, as did the wider markets. This was linked to the normal lull that comes before results reporting season, with investors looking forward to third quarter financial at the end of the month and in early November. In addition, the forthcoming US presidential election served to suppress stock market activity. In fact, the only major indicator to lose ground between weeks 39 and 42 was the Dow Jones Industrial Average in the US, which was down 1.06%.
