Network device for data packet transition time compensation has phase correction arrangement and buffers with buffer times making up maximum anticipated transition time

The device has a phase correction arrangement (PA21,PA22) for adapting the phase relationship associated with a data packet to a predefined phase correction value corresponding to a maximum anticipated transition time for the packet passing over a first or second transmission path and an arrangement (B11-B32) for buffering data packets for buffer times making up the maximum anticipated transition time when added to the actual transition time. Independent claims are also included for the following: a transition time compensation method, a program module for a network device and a storage device for a program module.
