Demand for containers in the US is projected to climb due to the expanded population base, real growth (albeit decelerated) in disposable personal income as well as the need for convenience, value and freshness protection. The projection for baked goods containers is set to rise 1.4 per cent yearly to $2.1 billion (€1.53bn) in 2013, close to the food container average, based on the maturity of items such as breads, cookies and cakes as well as dietary trends encouraging healthy versions of sweet goods.
