A line from Jason B. Jones's essay "There Are No New Directions in Annotations" accurately sums up the epitome of Web Writing: Why and How for Liberal Arts Teaching and Learning. Jones (2014) surmises, "Ultimately, students in a liberal arts classroom need to go beyond glossing the perspectives of others, and move toward formulating their own distinctive voice" (p. 255). In this vein, Web Writing is not a how-to manual for incorporating web writing into a liberal arts curriculum; however, liberal arts instructors may leave with ideas on how to incorporate digital writing into individual courses after reading the collection.
