Assessing the foot arch of younger school aged obese children

When evaluating the foot arch, it is impossible to unequivocally and directly conclude whether obesity is a determining factor on the occurrence of flat foot in regard to the size of both groups. Each method used is partly defined, partly processed and each has different levels of precision. According to the Chippaux-Smirak method, results show that for any weight category, the foot arch is more often evaluated as normal, whereas the Clarke angle method describes the foot as flat.
