摘要

Damping and control of randomly excited vibrations in a vertically hanging cantilever or beam inside a machine or structure by a loose spring skirt is a novel idea. In this work, mathematical modeling of vibration damping response of the loose spring skirting a hanging multi-segment cantilever system is presented. Computer code developed on the basis of this model has enabled to analyze the response of various parameters of the cantilever skirted by a loose spring.
