The backbone of a company’s strategic and operational planning process is its ability to collect competitive information efficiently and ethically in order to predict and prepare for the competitive environment in the future. The awareness and practice of competitive intelligence as a function has evolved significantly over the last decade, and the key challenge for an intelligence manager today is to develop a model which is both sustainable and scalable while delivering the insights required.nProactive insights and inputs that enable and support an informed decision-making process are the goal of any competitive intelligence function. Effective processes help streamline activities that deliver quality intelligence inputs consistently on time. While much information is available on the subject of general intelligence processes and products, insights on processes that enable the competitive intelligence function (CI enablers) and their importance are less debated. Understanding CI enablers are of vital importance to intelligence execution, especially with regards to sustainable quality and client satisfaction.
