Worker killed when skip lorry fell on him

Adis Scaffolding has been fined £300,000 after a driver was killed when his skip lorry fell on top of him. In a prosecution brought by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Derby Crown Court was told that David Vickers, 37, was tipping a skip containing construction and demolition waste at the Adis Scaffolding site in Duckmanton, Derbyshire, in July 2008. He had left the cab to deploy the stabilising rear outriggers before raising a skip using the lifting arms.
