ECOCAR TEAMS ROLL OUT GREEN VEHICLE DESIGNS OF THE FUTURE

Student engineers participating in EcoCar: The NeXt Challenge competition completed a major milestone in their three-year quest to win the event when they unveiled their vehicle designs at the Washington, DC, Auto Show in February. The 17 unique designs provide a glimpse into the future of green vehicle technologies including onboard hydrogen fuel cells and battery electric vehicles.rnEcoCAR, which is sponsored by the United States (U.S.) Department of Energy, the Canadian government, the California Air Resources Board and General Motors Corporation, provides experience and training to the next generation of automotive engineers. The student teams have developed the architectural concepts that will not only meet the competition criteria, but also represent their vision for their EcoCAR of the future.
