Urology in China

摘要

Urology as a speciality was first established in 1920, but its development had been exceedingly slow before the founding of the People's Republic. It existed as a division in the department of surgery only a few hospitals of the major cities. In those days practically all urological instruments were imported and even the textbooks of urology were from foreign countries. In new China, urology just like other branches of Medicine has shown a much more rapid progress.
