New Breakthroughs Made in Northeastern Sichuan Basin

On October 31, 2005, Sinopec Southern Exploration and Production Company announced a new breakthrough made in the key exploration well, Puguang 6 well, located on the Puguang structure in northeastern Sichuan exploration area. The well's general test showed that the high natural gas rate of 752.5 thousand cubic meters per day, the depth ranges from 5290 to 5390 meters of biostromal reef reservoirs in the upper Permian Changxing Formation. The breakthrough made from the well further confirmed and expanded the reserve scale of the large Puguang gasfield, laying the foundation for the completion of this year's task of reserve increase in northeastern Sichuan area.
