Dear CHIMIA readers, The members of the Editorial Board would like to wish you a happy and successful 2019. Roland W. Kunz retired from the Editorial Board at the end of 2018. He joined the EB in 2003 and during his 16 years on the Board he fulfilled many roles including responsibility for Internet matters, assistant editor and finally, from 2009, the Chairmanship of the Board. Along the way, he reorganised the tasks of Board members, encouraged chemists from a range of disciplines to participate, revitalised and expanded the columns and, together with David Spichiger, the Community and News sections of the journal. Under his influence, and that of the Editors-in-Chief during this period, the range of subjects has greatly increased: Food Chemistry, Biotechnology, Polymers, Material Sciences and many more whilst maintaining continuity in other areas such as the Laureates issues, new professors etc. On behalf of all the members of the Editorial Board, Roland, we thank you for your hard work and inspired input; CHIMIA is a better journal as a result of all of your efforts. The role of Chairperson will be taken by Gillian Harvey, who will also continue her employment as Technical Editor.
