With the threat of volcanic ash and airline strikes potentially causing further travel chaos this summer, more people are continuing last year's trend of holidaying at home - a point that's been quickly picked up in national advertising campaigns during the last month.rnThe Halifax has run a series of newspaper advertisements featuring narrowboats on the Grand Union just north of London, while Churchill Insurance has been running a TV campaign featuring Geoff Capes on arnnarrowboat. Speaking about why it chose the waterways for its campaign, the Halifax said: "The canal boats were one creative idea within an ongoing campaign featuring varied outdoor themes. This setting was chosen for the May Current Account campaign as itrnwas felt to be positive, colourful, spring-like and implies a very traditional, British kind of holiday scene."
