I had promised to remove my ceilings and I am as good as my word. Or even more so. I expected them to come down with very little effort, so I took the last screw out of the sitting room ceiling and took cover expecting the whole lot to cascade around me. It didn't, and no amount of prodding would persuade it to fall.rnAll of a sudden the job seemed a little daunting, and I wondered whether it really needed replacing at all. I ran the possibility of 'wallpapering over the cracks' with a friend who was passing, but his response was unsatisfactory.
