I have had my attention unceremoniously drawn to my engine room on more than one occasion, by several friends. As I have progressively ignored them, they have become really rather tiresome (not least because they are absolutely right!). So, high time to do something about it. The something was much easier as a friend of mine had some rather good ideas on what to do to make it so much more user-friendly. But first I had to line it out.
