A fresh view of Braunston

This Stunning New picture of historic working boat Gifford was painted by local (and now international) artist Paul James.Guarding Gifford is based on a photograph taken at the last Braunston Boat Show in 1999 (before the event moved to Crick), when Paul held an art exhibition there - and appropriately, he is pictured by Tim Coghlan of Braunston Marina with his painting against the background of the distinctive Braunston skyline. He hasn't exhibited on the canals since 1999, but all that was set to change by the time you read this as Guarding Gifford was due to be among many works of art in the Canal Artists' Tent at the 2014 Braunston Historic Narrowboat Rally & Canal Festival.
