Long-Time Waterways campaigner, leading light of Stoke Bruerne's Canal Museum, IWA Vice President, writer and former working boat skipper David Blagrove has been awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.Much of his involvement in the waterways has been centred on the Grand Union in Northamptonshire; he is Chairman of the Friends of the Canal Museum, has lived opposite the museum for many years and has written books on Braunston and on Northamptonshire's Waterways among other titles.
