CRT marketing boss retires

The canal & river trust's Marketing and Fundraising Director Simon Salem is to retire in June 2015 after working for CRT and its predecessor British Waterways since 1988. Mr Salem joined BW from London Underground to take the post of Marketing Development Manager and, in recent years, he had a "significant role in helping to create, launch and establish CRT and to set up its fundraising and volunteering teams." Following his retirement he plans to continue his voluntary work for the Samaritans, travel the world by train, and continue his studies following a psychology degree.
