The past twelve months have inevitably led to introspection, and I suspect I am not alone in spending at least some of the time mulling over the way I spend my time. This in turn has led me to contemplate my makes for Canal Boat and ponder over which were successful and which were not. I decided to compile a top ten based on success, enjoyability, and endurance. So here they are, in no particular order, my personal top ten: ①One of my first and still to date, one of my most successful makes, is undoubtedly the soap powder I wrote of in November 20l8's issue. This made a long lasting change to way we do laundry. When in the house, I intersperse it with a more traditional biological soap powder to make sure the pipes don't get clogged with soapy residue. But it really has stood the test of both time and efficiency. So far, I can't fault it. It did have one drawback though. While making the soap for my first attempt, I spilt some of the lye onto the back deck of Wand'ring Bark. Andy was less than pleased and still regularly points out the mark to anyone passing by...
