The Postmodern Critique and the communicative Perspective within Planning Theories: a Difficult Encounter

Over the last years, the postmodern critique was persuasive within all sectors of social sciences and humanities. Planning theories are no exception. However, the postmodern critique is not alone. The communicative perspective also contributed to reviewing the debate within modern planning. To what extent is the communicative perspective able to answer the critiques formulated by postmodernists within planning theories theories? In order to answer this question, we compare the post-modern point of view to the one elaborated by the communicative perspective.
