ArrivaClick ready for a commercial rollout

Arriva UK Bus managing director Kevin O'Connor says the group is ready to launch its demand responsive ArrivaClick minibus services on a commercial basis.'We have seen enough that we are happy to launch commercial services,' he told the UK Bus Summit in February.It began trialling ArrivaClick, with non-PSV high specification Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, in the Kent town of Sittingbourne in March last year, with Uber-style app-based booking and payment by mobile phone. Non-PSV operation allowed the service to be changed without giving 56 days' notice to the traffic commissioner.'Our research showed that people expect Uber-ification of the bus as a minimum. They expect us to have apps and want us to be dynamic and flexible,' he said.
