A stop to be looked down upon

When visiting cities, they often urge visitors to cast their eyes upwards to architecture that can easily be missed at street level, but while sampling Belfast's new Glider rapid transit bus service with Paul Savage, our man in Northern Ireland had something to show me at ankle level. We were in the city's Titanic Quarter, passing a low wall of what used to be the Harland & Wolff shipyard, and the rusty sign screwed into it for decades would have been easy to miss. Look past the corrosion, though, and there is just enough yellow paintwork and black lettering to identify it as a bus stop sign. Paul tells me it was for the shipyard workers' bus service, provided latterly with an ex-Ulsterbus Bedford SB single-decker.
