I had the privilege of working under Monica during her final two and a half years at AD, before she jumped ship to RIBA Journal in January 1976, writes Martin Spring. This was the era of the counterculture, the ecological movement, self-help housing, third-world initiatives and, closer to home, frothy fun architecture.
