Craft bakers up and down the country are gearing up for National Craft Bakers' Week, with special promotions and bakery tours for schoolchildren planned.rnThe week, which runs from 8-13 June, has been designed to promote The Shop That Never Sleeps', and reinforce its importance in the local community.rnBeaney's Bakery, based in Strood, Kent, will be inviting at least two schools in for bake-off sessions, where they will get a tour of the bakery before getting the chance to make a small cottage loaf. "I will also be visiting a third school to give a talk," said proprietor Chris Beaney. It will also be producing speciality products throughout the week, including gypsy tarts, hand-crafted breads and handmade meat pies.
