For almost 150 years, the Siebel Institute of Technology of Chicago has played an influential role in the brewing industry not only in the US, but on the world stage. Alumni hailing from more than 60 countries can be found in virtually every major brewery around the globe. At the beginning of the year, Christian von der Heide was chosen to serve as the new president and CEO of the venerable brewing school. His curriculum vitae includes experience at breweries and suppliers, all of which are active on an international scale, and also a stint as EBC president. BRAUWELT International spoke with the classically trained brewer and maltster about his new role.
