INTO THE FUTURE...OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

I don't have any psychic powers, but I do know knowledgeable fleet managers who have to plan for the future for their jobs. At a recent meeting, several provided forecasts of what the future of vehicle maintenance looks like. The first fleet manager said that in his career there always have been three options for performing vehicle maintenance: all in-house, outsourcing or a combination of the two. He said further that with his current job he selected a combination of the two, and feels it might be the best for the future. He has numerous locations and uses company shops and a network of service-dealer vendors.
