Powering the future of mobility

First of all, I would like to congratu-late SAE on the achievement of its 100th anniversary. Honda is a very young company compared to SAE and its 100-year history. Honda was established in 1948 as a small motorcycle company. Our first automobile went on sale even later, in 1963, just a little more than 40 years ago. SAE was already established when Ford's Model T was introduced in 1908. So, I have deep respect for SAE's long history of activities that have contributed to the advancement of the automobile industry. I believe it is the nature of human beings to desire mobility. Mobility enables people to obtain more knowledge and power by making it possible for us to meet each other and see the world. And I think it was the automobile that provided a definitive change in human history in the way of mobility.
