Full hybrid vehicles are becoming commonplace. Toyota leads the way, but more companies are developing the technology to improve fuel efficiency. One way to do that is to recoup energy lost through braking. In a city where there is lots of stop-start traffic it's a system that can make huge improvements in vehicles' fuel consumption.
