TRW moves electric park brakes to the front

Electric park brakes could become common in the small car segments. TRW has developed a system for front axles, making the technology more affordable. Such systems are widely available in larger vehicles but disc brakes are a prerequisite; drum brakes are still used on the vast majority of A- and B-segment models, so offering an electric park brake would require an up- grade of the foundation braking system first.
