A review of the status of research on grape and wine tannins - Part 1

In the latter part of 2009, the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC) commissioned a survey of the status of research on grape and wine tannins. The specific questions that were posed by the GWRDC were:rn1. the biosynthesis of tannins in grapes - the pathways in synthesis and degradation, and the cellular locations of these various reactionsrn2. an evaluation of analytical methods for assessing tannin content and composition in grapes and wine.
